Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her stage moniker Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. In October 2016, Ari Lennox released her Pho EP. It was here that she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet in 2012 when she dropped her first mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her single Bound and her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. On July 21st, the 21st of July in 2015 Omen included her in Elephant Eyes the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then and wanted her to create Rihanna reference. On the 8th of December that she was signed to Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. On October 21, 2016 her EP Pho was released. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she performed as a guest performer on two songs, with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018. A music video was later released in September. Then on November 9 she dropped two more singles: forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. On November 13 she then dropped two singles titled The No One or Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16th, and she released the song as a solo single to her debut album. The 20th of February, 2019 a music video was released for the song. The track has received nearly 3 million views on YouTube within its debut week. As a support act she performed in concert with 6LACK in December 2018 on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
