Selena
She was a performer as well as a designer, and music innovator. She was an Mexican American singer that was modern and traditional. She brought together both worlds and brought Tejano music to the forefront. Her sudden passing that shattered the rising star's image. It happens to a lot of stars who die far too young. Through the years, her the fans became encouraged to push themselves harder to make sure that Selena's successes would not fade away. Selena's shooting death sparked emotion in Latino culture that can be similar in a way to Elvis Presley, and John Lennon. She was an incredibly popular singer among Latinos in North America. But her songs touched the hearts of both young as well as the elderly. Selena might have been described by many as an Latina Madonna, however she is still a great character model. Selena's family values off stage and involvement with AIDS awareness campaigns are exemplary.
